What to expect
The Faith Leaders March is a solemn walk that emphasizes reflection and listening. Participants are invited to consider the March as a prayer. In Selma in 1965 during the great struggle for racial justice Abraham Joshua Heschel, one of the great contemporary Jewish thinkers was asked about praying and activism said, “When I march in Selma, my feet are praying.” Participants are encouraged to bring meditation bells to be used throughout the march to call people to stillness and reflection.
